Indian
River County offers year-round fishing for a wide variety of species
inhabiting the ocean, inlets, rivers, canals, and lakes.
County waters offer an impressive
array of dive sites and snorkeling areas and an abundance of swimming,
surfing, and windsurfing opportunities.
Charter and party boats are available
for rent. Free public boat launching ramps and ample parking at area
park sites provide easy access to the water.

knowledgeable underwater experiences. Daily dive and snorkel

Hunting and
Fishing Licenses
Hunting and fishing licenses are required. Recreational divers fishing
or trapping marine life must have a saltwater fishing license.
Licenses are available from the county tax collector in Luria's Plaza,
US Highway 1 at 15th Street in Vero Beach and from retail stores that
carry fishing supplies and gear.
Annual hunting licenses for Florida
residents are $12.50; for non-residents, $151.50. A 10-day
non-resident license is $26.50.
Annual freshwater fishing licenses
for Florida residents are $13.50; for non-residents, $31.50. A 3 day
non-resident license is $6.50 and a 7 day non-resident license is
$16.50.
Saltwater fishing licenses for
Florida residents: 1 year, $13.50; 5-year, $61.50. For non-residents,
3-day, $5; 7-day, $16.50; 1-year, $31.50.
Licenses not required for children
under 16, or for anyone over age 65 with proof of Florida residency. |
